Marianne Ackerman is a Montreal-based novelist, short story writer, playwright and journalist. Her first novel was the best-selling Jump (2000), a comic look at a family in transition, set during the 1995 referendum. Oyster, her fourth novel, takes place in Prince Edward County, Ontario, where she was born and grew up. Family tangles and literary ambition propel the plot but finally don't overshadow the build to a full-fledged rom-com.

A graduate of McGill University and Concordia University, Frank Nixon is a freelance writer and former investigative journalist based in Montreal, Quebec. For decades, he chased leads, interviewed reluctant sources, and wrote hundreds of articles for regional publications, always seeking the story beneath the surface. Much of that reporting unfolded in small towns, where the most compelling truths were rarely obvious, and silence could carry as much weight as a confession. Now retired from the newsroom but not from storytelling, he has turned to fiction, and his new book Wayward Voices, explores the emotional and moral terrain in the spaces where journalism ends and human life begins. Frank divides his time between the bustle of Montreal and the country calm of Outaouais, Quebec.

Andrew Retchless is a lifelong son of Quebec's Eastern Townships. He spent 44 years in education before turning to fiction, and is the author of The Sneaky Hollow Chronicles: Where Time Stands Still — magical realism rooted in the landscapes and communities of a region he knows by heart. The characters of Sneaky Hollow first came to life on his popular Townships weather page, where they found an audience of over 3,500 readers before the book was ever written. A graduate of Bishop's University, Andrew lives on the shores of Lake Lovering in Canton Stanstead with his wife Marie-Pier. For more about Andrew visit andrewretchless.com
